The Bosch, uses the older technology, continuous running shaker, with its ongoing "Thump-Thump-Thump" whereas the Metabo uses the new system and only thumps when necessary. When it comes right down to it, the only difference between the Bosch and the Metabo is the filter shaker system. Because Starmix themselves do not sell in North America, the only way to get one of their vacs is to buy a rebrand from the various European tool manufactures, either Metabo, Mafell or Bosch. Starmix refers to this as the ipulse system. It differs from the above model Starmix 1450 in that it has the new body design (easier to clean), has a filter monitor, is M class, and perhaps most importantly it has the new version of the filter shaker system which monitors the filter efficiency and only thumps the filters when necessary. The Metabo Im after, the Model ASR35, is also a Starmix, however it is based on Starmix model. This same model is sold as a Mafell (and maybe even a Metabo in some markets as well) Steve, Between the Bosch Airsweep 3931A-PB and the Starmix ISC ARD-1450 EWS it is based on, their is basically no real difference. Theyre both supposed to be about the same size, but the nozzle on the bosch hose seems to create a higher pitched squeal with the rushing air, likely due to it being a smaller orifice. One thing I noticed is a SIGNIFICANT difference in sound level between the factory Bosch hose and the aftermarket (LV sourced) Mr. The included handle, cord, hose and wand storage is really great and makes for a nice compact package.
